The Bassett's request was for us to extend their home and give them a private hideaway from the hustle and bustle of the home's natural need to entertain. The existing house is a typical 1980's home, featuring face brick walls and concrete roof tiles. ​

​We came up with a bold juxtaposed design which uplifted the whole property. The suite was placed on a higher level which gave it the privacy it needed. The home grew such a presence with the new suite standing tall above the busy landscape. Majestic whales finning and frolicking are common sights from bedside. North light streams into this room keeping the volume cosy, year round.
